Fall Photo Shoot with Glamor Supermodel Howard
The end of a field out back behind my house made for a good fall backdrop for portraits at the end of October given the red, orange and yellow hues of the trees in the back, along with a little leftover green. A single evergreen tree is also prominent in the backdrop. So, I got an idea and called up a glamor model I’ve previously worked with, Howard the Buck, to get some nice photos for display.
I first had him give me a full body shot portrait looking directly at the camera for a 16×9 wallpaper:
Next, I had him look a little more aggressive with a serious pose:
Next, I took a photo at a “dutch angle.” A dutch angle is often used to “to portray psychological uneasiness or tension in the subject.” It had nothing to do with me tripping while trying to get the photo.
Here’s a candid outtake shot of Howard while I reset my camera and took some test shots:
Next, I requested Howard walk out of the woods like he’s on a deerwalk for a strolling shot:
He then turned his head and trademarked pose (known as brown steel) to three quarter, looking off-camera at an angle:
I then requested his famous brooding version of the brown steel look, and he nailed it!
Surprisingly, a doe watching the deerwalk then challenged him to a walk-off. He easily won and smugly looked at her as she walked away in defeat.
I then asked him to do some basic deer stuff, like sniffing the grass:
Finally, I had him walk away from the camera and turn around, giving a “come hither” look for a final shot and 16×9 wallpaper:
Overall, I recommend Howard. He’s photogenic, easy to work with, and comfortable with full nudity. I look forward to working with him again.
