Tenet – Nolan’s Masterpiece
It’s taken me most of this year to digest the movie Tenet. I did not review it earlier in the year when I first watched it because I wanted to think about it more. Well, I’ve thought about it and it’s a masterpiece. Fortunately for me, I don’t have to write down my thoughts because I just saw this video which describes them perfectly:
As the video states, Tenet is a movie Nolan makes about the idea of a “Temporal Pincer Movement” and the paradox it creates. The movie is perfect in what it aspires to be and there’s more emotion than people give it credit for, especially at the end. It’s also very funny in parts – I loved the scene where The Protagonist has lunch with Crosby, played by Sir Michael Caine. I laughed out loud. And of course, Ives’ quip of “Cowboy Shit” is one of my favorite one-liners ever.
Grade: A+
P.S. Earlier, this year I stated “I think it’s Nolan’s best after The Dark Knight.” It’s not. It’s better than The Dark Knight.
